Hemi is a London-based, bilingual (Turkish & English), triple nationality (Turkish/ British/ Portugese) actor, born in Istanbul. Since his graduation from the Guildford School of Acting, he has had a varied career in plays, musicals, Shakespeare, cabaret, dance, voiceover, film, radio and TV. In 2012, he won the Best Actor Award for the role of Prince Khalifa, in the sitcom Yo Valet! for Sitcom Mission. Following that, Hemi was invited to be in a new comedy project, Common Ground, developed by Baby Cow Productions for Sky Atlantic. In Common Ground, Hemi played the role of Salim, a part that he created. In 2015/16 Hemi played the role of Mercutio in a 40-state US tour of Romeo and Juliet, which ended with an off-Broadway run. In 2017, Hemi joined Les Enfants Terribles in their Olivier-nominated Alice's Adventures Underground at the Waterloo Vaults playing the role of King of Hearts amongst others. He made his West End debut in February 2019 in Donmar Warehouse's production of Berberian Sound Studio - a stage adaptation of Peter Strickland's critically acclaimed film of the same name.
